Life is Ranked

Privacy Policy

This page explains what information Life is Ranked may access, how it is used, when it may leave your device, and what choices users have.

Effective date: April 21, 2026

Life is Ranked ("Life is Ranked," "we," "our," or "us") is a self-improvement and wellness app with journeys, daily tasks, workouts, wellness tracking, Morning Momentum alarms, Screen Time Wager, optional Guild/community features, and AI-powered coaching tools. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app may access, how that information is used, when it may leave your device, and what choices you have.

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or the app, contact Mario Sinclair at marioams2@gmail.com.

Information We Collect or Access

Life is Ranked may collect, store, or process the following categories of information, depending on which features you choose to use:

1. Information You Create in the App

2. Screen Time and App Restriction Data

If you enable Screen Time Wager, Life is Ranked may access and process information made available through Apple's Screen Time, Family Controls, Device Activity, and Managed Settings frameworks, including your selected apps, categories, or web domains, usage checkpoints, remaining budget, and shield state needed to operate the feature.

3. Health and Fitness Data

If you grant HealthKit access, Life is Ranked may read and use health and fitness data such as steps, active energy, heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep analysis, Apple exercise time, VO2 max, respiratory rate, and workouts. The app may also write workout records and related activity data back to Apple Health when you use workout features that save those results.

4. Photos and Avatar Images

If you choose to create an avatar, analyze a meal photo, attach a journal image, or attach photos to discussion posts, the app may access or process those images for the feature you selected. Reference avatar images, generated avatar images, journal photos, and other user-selected images may be stored locally on your device and may sync to your private iCloud restore snapshot if you use iCloud restore.

5. Notifications and Alarms

If you allow notifications, Life is Ranked may schedule local reminders and related notification metadata for routines, tasks, and re-entry flows. If you enable Morning Momentum, the app may also store alarm schedule metadata needed to manage that feature.

6. Device and Service Identifiers

The app stores a stable internal app user ID and related local device state to support continuity, restore, Guild/community features, and device-specific settings. The app may also store local state related to permissions, onboarding, sync, cached progress, and subscription access.

7. Purchases and Entitlements

If you buy or restore Pro access, purchase processing is handled by Apple through StoreKit. We may receive and store entitlement state needed to unlock Pro features inside the app, but we do not receive your full payment card details.

8. Guild and Community Profile Data

If you enter the Guild or use discussion features, Life is Ranked may upload and store a public Guild profile that can include your display name, avatar, current rank, highest rank, level, XP, streak, class, selected progression stats, rank points, trophy summaries, and related Guild activity. Posts, replies, likes, and attached discussion photos are also stored to operate those features.

When Information Leaves Your Device

1. Private iCloud Restore and Continuity

If iCloud restore is enabled, app progress and continuity data may sync through your private iCloud and CloudKit storage so your progress can be rebuilt on another Apple device tied to the same Apple account.

2. AI Features You Choose to Use

If you use Clyde-powered or AI-powered features such as journey generation, daily task generation, workout generation, weekly review generation, daily quote generation, avatar generation, or meal-photo analysis, the app may send relevant request data to our backend workers and to OpenAI to generate the result you requested.

Depending on the feature, that request data can include profile context, active journey context, recent task or progress summaries, body-composition context, wellness context, and a limited stats snapshot. That stats snapshot may include items such as steps, sleep hours, active energy, recent workouts, recovery or strain summaries, and related derived wellness metrics if you have connected HealthKit and then choose to use those AI features.

3. Guild and Community Features

If you enter the Guild, sync your public Guild profile, post in discussions, like posts, or upload discussion photos, that information is sent to our backend infrastructure so it can be shown to other users and managed across the community features.

How We Use Information

Where Information Is Stored

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may disclose or share information only in the following limited ways:

Your Choices

You can choose whether to enable or deny access to HealthKit, Screen Time or Family Controls, Photos, notifications, alarm features, and iCloud restore. You can also choose whether to use Guild/community features or AI-powered features. You can delete app content, remove the app, withdraw from the Guild, or disable permissions in iOS Settings at any time.

Data Retention

On-device app data remains on your device until you delete it, reset the app's data, or remove the app. Data stored in your private iCloud remains subject to your Apple account and Apple's services until it is removed there.

Guild discussion content and associated discussion photos may be retained on backend infrastructure while needed for the service. Current backend logic is designed to prune expired discussion threads after roughly 30 days, and attached discussion photos are deleted with those post bundles.

Public Guild profile data may remain while you are participating in Guild features and may be removed when you withdraw from the Guild. AI service providers may temporarily process requests you send through AI-powered features in accordance with their service policies and legal obligations.

Health Data Commitment

We do not sell Health data and do not use Health data for advertising. Health-related data is used to power in-app wellness, workout, recovery, and coaching features. If you choose to use Clyde or other AI-powered features, related wellness context may be included only to fulfill the feature you requested.

Children's Privacy

Life is Ranked is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. These can include platform-level permissions, Apple frameworks, and device-verification measures used for some protected Guild actions. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this site with a revised effective date.
